The most important part of Christmas…

December 20th, 2010

For those of you who are cooking a traditional Christmas lunch this year – don’t forget the turkey!

We have a brilliant range of fresh turkeys here at Farmer Copleys, all at very reasonable prices.

Our turkeys include:

Barn Reared White Turkeys – our best seller to date

Free Range Bronze Turkeys – exceedingly tasty and a favourite for chefs

Adlington Free Range Bronze Turkeys – new to Farmer Copleys this year.  They have been matured for an extra two weeks and are selling like hot cakes!

And if that wasn’t enough, we also stock Capons, Pheasants, Duck and Geese as well as doing a three or five bird roast!  We’re better value than leading supermarkets and we make the whole experience of buying Christmas products a lot more enjoyable.

Why not call in to place your order and reward yourself with a cuppa in MOO Cafe, or you can even order from the comfort of your own home!  Just ring 01977 600200 and one of our butchers will help you choose the perfect bird for your festive feast.  You can then come into the shop to collect it on the 23rd or 24th December.

Copley’s Couple

December 16th, 2010

Now, we’re a big happy family here at Farmer Copleys but even we were surprised to see two new faces pitched as the ‘Copleys’.

In November’s edition of Country Life magazine (which we love by the way) our home-made pies, created using our very own hand-reared beef, were featured by editor, Alice Cooke. Whilst it was great to see our pies receive such a glowing endorsement, Janet and Darren were quoted as being ‘The Copleys!’

So Janet and Darren, it would appear that as well as our pies being created almost by accident this was a further faux pas and we’d like to apologise that we didn’t quite get your names up in lights.

We will keep trying and telling the world about our team members, who really do make Farmer Copleys the success that it is today.

Please do let us know what you think of the piece. We are always eager to get feedback from our customers and those who have supported Copleys over the years.

cheese

With our full range of Christmas cheeses now in stock you can stock up with the guarantee that all cheese and truckles will be OK until after Christmas.

I’m sure you have your very own favourites; but if you do need some advice our team has the expertise to help you choose the perfect cheeseboard.

Cheese 2

Alongside cheddars and fruit cheeses here is a few of our favourites:

Wensleydale Jeveralux

In fact just give me the block of cheese and a spoon – it really is that nice! We’ve also secured 20% off the price for the whole of December, which has been passed on to you.

Limited Edition Wensleydale with Orange and Champagne truckle

Santa & Snowmen shaped Wensleydale truckles – perfect for little ones or those who a simply young at heart.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

December 10th, 2010

One of our favourite festive activities in the Copley household is to put up the Christmas Tree.  We love the whole experience surrounding it – choosing the tree, finding the right place to put it and then decorating it, all whilst singing along to Christmas songs.

Christmas Tree

We’ve been doing Christmas Trees at the farm shop longer than the shop has been open!  Knowing how special the perfect tree can make your Christmas, we pride ourselves on the quality of our trees and the wide range of hand trimmed, perfect shapes.  Our trees include the Nordman and Fraser Fir trees which range from 5 foot right up to 9 foot and we also have potted living trees.

And since it’s Christmas, we’ve decided to treat our customers to a £5.00 voucher to use in the farm shop or MOO cafe in January 2011 when you buy one of our trees!

Happy Anniversary Moo Café!

December 9th, 2010

Today is Moo café’s two year anniversary – doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun!

One of the recent updates for MOO café has been the fab new uniforms which Alison and Angela are modelling for us in this photo.  (I should probably add that this was taken under duress!)

MOO uniforms

Also, we’re now open until 7pm Monday to Friday, which is even more of an excuse to pop in and enjoy a festive treat.  The MOO menu includes some great Christmas additions, such as Christmas Fruit Cake with a Slice of Real Wensleydale Cheese which is only £2.95, and our Bakers Homemade Brandy Mince Pies with Clotted Cream for £1.95.

All the staff here at Farmer Copleys are rather partial to the Brandy Mince Pies, but there should be some left when you drop by!

A Merry Christmas from Farmer Copleys

December 8th, 2010

Okay the countdown to Christmas has begun, but if you’re hearing alarm bells instead of jingle bells then you’ll love our countdown to Christmas.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be sharing great tips, activities and products that will help you and your family to have a merry and very tasty Christmas.

Here at Copleys we love Christmas and we’re starting our countdown with a few Christmas tunes – although we may leave out ‘Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!’.

Simply check out our blog and watch our tweets and please share your own tips too!

And to start the festive season, we’re getting ready for a very special visitor – Santa Claus.

Needless to say he’s insisted on staying for a Moo cafe special breakfast and tea so families will get the chance to join him.

We also have some great activities planned for children visiting Santa – they can decorate their own biscuit, listen to story telling and receive a special gift.

This is a great event and at just £10.50 per ticket it’s a magical experience to enjoy during the festive period – especially if, like us, you just can’t wait until Christmas day to see if Santa’s been!

Details:

Breakfast: 9am – 10.30am on the 12th, 18th, 20th and 21st December

Tea: 4.30pm – 6pm on the 15th December (16th is sold out.)

Late Night Openings

November 22nd, 2010

We are now open late night Monday to Friday, offering customers the chance to visit the shop and Moo café outside of normal working hours!

The farm shop and Moo café will be open until 7pm so you can enjoy a hearty homemade meal or shop for groceries and fresh meats and vegetables.

Moo café will also be extending its menu with a range of freshly prepared, winter warming dishes, offering shoppers the chance to combine late night shopping with a break from cooking.

Every night we will be offering a new dish of the day – you could eat here every night and not have the same meal twice!

Our farm shop and award winning butchery will be fully staffed and workers will be on hand to give shoppers advice about meats, seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Come along and say hello!
