Pumpkin Festival 2017From 7th October to 29th October 2017
From 10:00 am till 4:00 pm
At Farmer Copleys
Not Long now… the pumpkins have flowered and growing well. This year we have planted in excess of 120,000 pumpkin plants of every shape size and colour, to ensure you find your perfect pumpkin. There will be a rainbow of pumpkins, red, green, white, blue, black, yellow, mixed, warty and of course orange!
The witch is coming back and will be story telling throughout the day with her fellow witches, all friendly witches of course at Farmer Copleys. The fancy dress parade will be taking place daily at 2:30pm outside The Witches Kitchen, so don your best fall fancy dress, have your face painted at the festival and enter the parade, prize for every child. Adults are also encouraged to join in the festivities with their outfits.
The Inter-school Pumpkin Challenge encourages schools with a garden or allotment who have grown pumpkins to bring their best one down to the farm for judging. The classes include, The Largest Pumpkin – diameter at the widest part, The Heaviest Pumpkin – usually a different pumpkin and The Most Perfect Pumpkin – looking for even shape and good skin set. All children get to experience the farm and pumpkins, including trying pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie, pork & pumpkin sausage and anything else we think they might like. If you would like to be involved please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org, please let us know number of students attending for catering requirements. Event Date: 12th October 2017 2:00pm in the Farm Shop, see you there.
