Farmer Copleys Scores Awards Hat-Trick
What a year it has been for the team at Farmer Copleys!
The latest phase of expansion has been completed and the business and team has grown from 36 to 65 to ensure delivery of the customers expectations be it through the Farm Shop, Moo Café of Beast Restaurant are met with a friendly, cheeky, welcoming and honest team.
Well all the hard work has paid off, last night (Thursday the 15th of February), Mr & Mrs Copley, (Senior AKA Ken and Janet) and Miss Millie Ramskill (Grand-daughter and Corn Ranger) attended a glittering awards evening at the Harrogate Pavilions.
The event is now in its fifth year and was created by The Northern Farmer (publication) with the main sponsor been Mole Country Stores. The awards gives the agricultural industry in the North a chance to stand up and be recognised with a major emphasis on forward thinking, innovative businesses/farmers. The award categories ranged from:
Employed Farm Manager of the Year
Farm Contractor of the Year
Sheep Farmer of the Year
Young Farmer of the Year
Beef Farmer of the Year
Arable Farmer of the Year
Family-run Farm of the Year
Diversification of the Year – Looking at those creating a more diverse environment, improvements and enhancements to the countryside, benefits to the countryside and environment whilst running a viable business. This was the award that Farmer Copleys was given; we can assure you they were surprised as the other two nominees were so strong.
The team back at the farm were thrilled as were Robert and Heather who were away at the time, waiting by the phone over the course of the evening to see how it unfolded.The award was received by Ken Copley and Millie Ramskill and presented by Wendy Gibson, a familiar face on our televisions particularly Look North and a farmers daughter herself.
Receiving this award has given Farmer Copleys the Hat Trick, the 1st of November 2017, saw them win Best Independent Retailer at the Deliciously Yorkshire Awards, followed by the NFAN Awards (National Farm Attraction Network) on the 31st January 2018 for Best Food & Beverage, and now this. It is so exciting and such a thrill for all the team involved. The big question is what next??? Well Farmer Copleys is open 7 days a week so please do pop in and judge for yourselves, also we will be at the Wakefield Rhubarb Festival both with a stall and doing Cookery Demonstrations in the main marquee, with samples to taste!
